Note

This course is designed to be split into three 2-hour sessions with little hands-on activities for the participants. The sessions follows the order of difficulty, assuming users have absolutely no idea how to make use of the interface. This site is simply an accompanying site created by Kevin and in no way can the resources here be used in place of the course.

All materials on the site are subjected to the copyrights of their respective owners and the rights to the textual content are wholly reserved by Kevin.

Session 3 Course Materials

The Session Covers:

Adobe Premiere Fundamentals Capturing on DV Camera (with firewire)
Introduction of different industrial standards

Use of Effects & Effects Control Use of Effects Controls to manipulate entire clips
Use of Special Effects (eg. Chroma Keying)

Peripheral Components Adding Universal Counter, Black & Color Bars

Microsoft Powerpoint Presentation: Lesson 3.ppt

The powerpoint is only useful as triggers for different functions of the software and shows the more detailed outline of the course for that session. It cannot be used as a guide or manual to the software, so try to pay attention to the demonstrations in class.

Hands-on! Materials Video Clip: Sharky Raw
Audio Clip: Sharky Voice
Still Image: News Background

Note that the above image, video and audio files should not be freely distributed and Sensorium Vale reserves all rights to the video (the audio belongs wholly to Irvin & image belongs to Kevin).

In this Hands-on!, students are encouraged to continue from the project they worked on in the past session. They can now make use of the chroma keying to add the image into the otherwise plain background of the clip and attempt to move the image around with the effect control and this leads on to manipulating the videos themselves with the effects control panel. Students may be interested to add small portions of scaled down video clips on the side of Sharky similar to the style of real news programmes.
